MASS selected to deliver Aston University Engineering Academy ICT Contract

MASS  today announces that it is to be contracted to provide the ICT services for Aston University Engineering Academy. The contract is to be let under the Department for Education ICT Services Framework, is valued at around £700,000 and delivery is expected to commence in February 2012. The Academy is currently under construction and is scheduled to be open for students on the 3rd September 2012. MASS will be responsible for the design and installation of the ICT infrastructure, the procurement and integration of the various networked systems, together with the supply of all end user equipment.

Aston University Engineering Academy is the first major University sponsored University Technical College (UTC) to be commissioned in the country. As such it has a number of specialist requirements which impact on the ICT infrastructure. MASS was selected because of the high quality of its offer, which demonstrated that it had a clear understanding of the Academy’s needs, an in-depth knowledge of the technology to be supplied and a successful track record in delivering ICT solutions of a similar nature into newly built educational establishments.
